Montenegro: Europe’s first coronavirus-free country opens to travelers on June 1
ON MAY 24, MONTENEGRO BECAME THE FIRST CORONAVIRUS-FREE COUNTRY IN EUROPE. 7 DAYS OF CORONA-FREE STATUS, AND 27 DAYS SINCE THE LAST ACTIVE CASE, MONTENEGRO OPENS THE BORDERS FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS From 131 countries.
Montenegro is a country of more than a thousand year history, constantly in wars but never fully conquered. It is "unconquerable land, glorious as Sparta", as written by an eminent university professor from Paris, Gaston Rupnel.
The last active coronavirus case was reported on May 4th. After 27 days of last discovered coronavirus case, we have won the battle against COVID-19.
Who can travel to Montenegro?
Montenegrin Government announced that traveling to Montenegro will be permitted from today, June 1 2020, for tourists from countries with low rates of COVID-19 infection. The countries with fewer than 25 active coronaviruses cases per 100,000 residents are granted the permission to enter Montenegro.
There are 131 countries on the list and there will be no mandatory testing or quarantine. The list will be regularly updated as the pandemic ceases in other countries.
From June 1st, 2020. date forward, visitors from 131 countries will be welcome to travel to Montenegro (alphabetically):

How Montenegro handled coronavirus situation
Montenegro was the last corona-free country in Europe, and it is the first to win the battle against it in Europe. Montenegro implemented a timely response to the outbreak of COVID-19, even before the first registered case. The data of coronavirus cases confirms that the whole system, and with it the entire country, effectively implemented the strategy in order to end the pandemic.

Since the beginning of May, the measures for coronavirus prevention are being lessened. Currently, national parks and archaeological sites, beaches, restaurants, bars, shopping centers, and all the businesses are up and running, making life in Montenegro a lot more like before coronavirus. The beaches reopened on May 18 and many locals are taking a much deserved swim after more than 2 months of lockdown.
Update on coronavirus measures in Montenegro
The last easing measures are now being implemented. The Institute of Public Health decided that from Monday, June 1, all types of gatherings, outdoors and indoors, in public places, including wedding festivities, funerals, as well as sports competitions can be attended by up to 200 people. Clubs, bars and nightclubs as well as children playrooms are allowed.
Still, "It is obligatory to respect the measures of physical distance of at least two meters. At sports competitions, it is obligatory to disinfect props for training, competitions and tournaments and objects that athletes use together ", it is stated in the announcement of the National Coordination Body.
Montenegrin citizens and foreigners with permanent or temporary residence entering Montenegro from countries in which the confirmed rate of active cases of coronavirus is higher than 25 per 100,000 inhabitants are ordered to be placed in self-isolation or quarantine for 14 days.
