OVERVIEW

The miracles of Ostrog tour starts in front of your hotel where we will pick you up. After an one hour drive (from Podgorica), we will reach the monastery. We will walk through the gate, and stop on a round plateau overlooking the monastery (where you can also take the most amazing photos). We will give you introduction to this beautiful and sacred place, it’s history and heritage and the surroundings, everything about St. Basil of Otrog (Sveti Vasilije Ostroski), to whom the monastery is dedicated, and after we will proceed inside the monastery. After we climb on top of the Monastery, and see amazing mosaics and the Church of Holy Christ, we will enter the Church of the Presentation where we will visit the relics of St. Basil.

After we have seen and admired the Upper monastery, we will go to the Lower Monastery and visit it as well. We will enter the Church of the Holy Trinity and see its beautiful frescoes.

We will end the tour of Ostrog with delicious traditional Northern Montenegro cuisine.

09:00 Meeting in front of your hotel in Podgorica

09:00 - 10:00 Driving through beautiful Bjelopavlici plain towards the Ostrog Monastery

10:00-10:45 We will get to know: Upper Ostrog monastery complex (XVII century), The Church of Holy Christ (XVII century), The Church of Presentation (XVII century), Church of the Holy Trinity (XIX century), Bjelopavlici plain. We will also admire stunning views from Ostrog Monastery Complex (Upper and lower monastery).

10:45 - 11:00 Free time to take photos and/or buy souvenirs

11:00 - 11:45 Visiting Lower Monastery and driving to the restaurant

11:45 - 13:00 Delicious Northern Montenegrin traditional lunch

13:00 - 14:00 Driving back to Podgorica

14:15 End of the tour

Pilgrimage to Ostrog,Montenegro passes through scenic, peaceful road. Sometimes you can see people passing this route barefoot.
